The aim of Northern Light Art is to offer paintings that provide a momentary glimpse into the "eternal," into timeless truths about life. In one way or another, they reveal the Sweetness, Beauty, and Love that is all about.
Another common trait is their "French Palette," the treatment of light, color, and shape as perfected by the Impressionists. Because the Danes were among the first to study with the Impressionists in the 1880s and 90s, most pieces are from Denmark. Applying the French Palette to representative scenes or motifs in Denmark,with its diffused light, the style is known as Post-Representative. All of which explains why they're elegant, beyond trends and time.
In addition to pieces from ca 1890-1920, we also show Modernist pieces, primarily from the 1940s.
Because we buy at auction in Europe, eliminating middlemen and doing the restoration ourselves, the work is sensibly priced.

Commencing Dec 1, 2011 seven new dealers were added to Watson Annex, Interiors & Antiques, complementing their full service design services. Among them was Northern Light Art.
Other dealers represent 40s, 50s & 60s accent pieces, cosmolitipan antiques for in Town Living, classic American oak furniture, custom drapery and upholestry designer, "architectual antiques," and "decortables" for every niche.
